Wellbeing Animals Guernsey

The annual '10 weeks 10 parishes' walk was open to all dogs and their owners with the 2026 initiative starting in September and taking place every Sunday afternoon.

The reception being held at GH is for all the dog owners who have been on all of their WAG walks and they will receive a certificate from Lady Cripwell, signed by their patron Harvey. Harvey is owned by Nicky Brink and had previously shared the owner with Mustard, Lady Cripwell's Golden Retriever who died earlier this year aged 14. Harvey and Mustard are pictured right with their owners, Nicky and Louise.

From their website: WAG therapy dogs and their owners regularly visit a variety of establishments. These include most of the wards at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, many residential and care homes, day centres and schools.  Just stroking a friendly and kind dog can bring feelings of comfort and can reduce stress levels or anxiety. Often they can improve the quality of life for dementia sufferers, sometimes triggering long supressed emotions and memories.  Young pupils in schools will often gain confidence reading aloud to a friendly dog and in other situations the animals have a calming influence on children with anxiety
