Visiting Les Bourgs Hospice
His Excellency is the new patron the the hospice and undertook a visit both to the shop and to the care facilities.
As the Prince of Wales, His Majesty The King had been the patron of Les Bourgs Hospice but on his ascension to the throne, a review was undertaken of the patronages he held and Les Bourgs was one of many that he was unable to continue.
The Board of Directors decided to continue the link with the Crown and and asked the Lieutenant-Governor to take over the role as patron.
His Excellency was very pleased to take over the role for an establishment that has so well served the island since it was established in 1991. He has been out to visit the hospice to see the facilities and meet some of the staff and patients and also attended a presentation and discussion with CEO Rob Jones and some of their senior team.
In the photo on the front page, His Excellency met with Shop Manager Sharon Bullock and some of the volunteers at the very successful Hospice shop which he also visited on the tour.
