The Suicide Support Journey

His Excellency will give the opening address at the Suicide Conference.

Talking Benches, Guernsey Mind and Guernsey Samaritans have organised the event to help educate the wider population and show them how they can make a difference in suicide prevention. 

Talking Benches have been installed around the island by the locally based charity with the support of other organisations, the Lions Club, Norman Piette and GO. The aim of these benches is to give people a safe space for individuals to discuss their struggles or even just to have a conversation with a person because they are lonely. Human interaction is a fundamental basic need and we can all play our part in supporting each other. 

Mrs Cripwell will also be at the conference for the first morning to hear the speakers and talk with members of these crucial charities.
