The States meeting AND Chief Pleas!

A busy welcome back to the Lieutenant-Governor after his winter holiday as he attends both the States of Guernsey and Sark's Chief Pleas.

His Excellency tries to attend as many as many as possible of the Guernsey States meetings, Sark's Chief Pleas and meetings of the States of Alderney but when they clash, it seems only fair to divide his time and go to both. So a morning in the States, listening to questions put to Deputy Neil Inder about Brittany Ferries and Inter-Island Travel and Yvonne Burford presenting the statement from the Scrutiny Panel.

Then followed a choppy trip across to Sark, collecting a bike and cycling off to the Chief Pleas Assembly Room where he was pleased to have been invited to unveil their new official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. Then began the task of considering reports from their Douzaine and various committees.

The trip back on the Sark boat on Thursday was apparently too scary to even be described...
