The Saffery Rotary Walk

The popular annual walk around the island, hosted by sponsors, Saffery Champness and the Rotary Club Guernsey, took place on Saturday June 6th this year and as the summer season in Guernsey comes to a close, it is once again time to top up those final sponsorship monies collected and hand out the cheques to the charities chosen to benefit from the event this year. 

More than a thousand walkers took part with participants of all ages and abilities battling the inclement weather and including people who had travelled to the island from as far afield as South Africa and Texas.

Representatives from twenty five local charities have been invited to the reception at Government House to be presented with their cheques by the Lieutenant-Governor and they will have an opportunity to thank the main sponsor and many of the other companies who assisted as delivery partners, checkpoint sponsors and a variety of other jobs needed to support such a huge event. 

The award reception will also see some awards to the walkers themselves including the oldest and youngest walkers and the best #selfie.
