The Royal Guernsey Agricultural and Horticultural Show 2025

FARM animals arrived in Saumarez Park for the annual Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society Show where farmers and their families will showcase their animals, all of which will have been specially prepared to show on the day.

The show is well-supported by locals and farmers to ensure the animals are in tip-top shape and all of the animals look their very best and the judges were very impressed with the condition of cattle on display.

The family event features also a traditional tea tent, vintage tractors and local produce and is a firm favourite for families , especially those with young children who show such delight in meeting this friendly animals.

Unfortunately the Royal Golden Guernsey Goat, so recently granted a royal warrant by His Majesty King Charles III did not have a class for the breed for the first time in 40 years. There is a shortage of the goats, still very much on the rare breed list, and they had not been bred in the last year so were not in show condition for the class. We hope they will recover enough to return in the coming years.

His Excellency loves attending the show, very much understanding the importance of the breed for Guernsey and was pleased to be able to hand out trophies to the winners.
