The King's Birthday Reception 2025
This annual event is one of the biggest in the Government House calendar with guests including local VIP's, Island Community representatives, Island Services, members of the Royal Court and charities, Youth organisations and schools, and also people who His Excellency and Lady Cripwell have met throughout the year at various events they have attended.
It is an opportunity for His Excellency to present and congratulate those who have received honours in the King's Birthday Honours list and who will have been keeping that a secret from family and friends for a few weeks since they were told.
This year we had a bumper crop of Island Honours, not least a Knighthood for His Excellency for Services to the Bailiwick of Guernsey and an LVO (Lieutenant of the Victorian Order) for his Aide-de-Camps Major Marco Ciotti who has been in his post for 13 years and will retire in early 2026.
The full list of those who received honours this year can be seen below and they were all invited to attend the reception, each with a group of their family and closest friends, where the Lieutenant-Governor did a short speech about each and the Bailiff raised a toast and thanked them all for their service.
Also being congratulated was the team from Camp de Reve Glamping site led by Jane and Danny Barnes who are the first Guernsey winners of the King's Award for Enterprise.
