Signing of the Alderney Condolence Book for HM The Queen
The Lieutenant-Governor made a flying visit to Alderney on 16th September.
His Excellency took a trip to Alderney to sign the condolence book and to thank the staff and Members of the Alderney States for all the effort they had made to ensure the success of their local celebration of the life of Her Majesty The Queen.
Alderney parish church bell ringers and the Island band were invited to attend a morning reception alongside the staff and members of the Alderney States headed by President William Tate. His Excellency addressed the group in the Island hall and stated how proud he was to be able to visit the Northern Island of the Bailiwick who had shown such loyalty to the late Queen and proclaimed the new King with such vigour earlier in the week.
The children from the local playgroup were keen to get in on the act and joined His Excellency and staff an colleagues for a photo outside the Island Hall.
