Saffery Rotary Walk Reception
The Lieutenant-Governor hosted a reception for the sponsors, organisers and charity recipients
The sun shone and and coastline was once again full of bright orange as walkers of all ages pulled on their trainers and hoped they did enough training to make it round the island on 8th June this year.
The main walk undertaken by most of the 1210 people who took part, is a 39 mile marathon and enjoyed every year, not just by islanders but by walkers who arrived from the UK, South Africa, Hungary and Denmark, to take part in this prestigious event.
At the reception at Government House, His Excellency presented cheques to the 24 chosen charities who are benefitting from the funds raised. He also present prizes to the oldest and youngest walkers who completed the whole 39 miles and and the taker of the best #selfie on the day, seen on the front page.
Mrs Cripwell couldn't be with us for the evening but she definitely did her part, taking the early morning cliff walk leg for the Bright Tights Charity Relay team.
