Lieutenant-Governor presents prizes at the Royal Guernsey Agricultural and Horticultural Society show

His Excellency was delighted to conduct one of his favourite duties today, presenting silverware at the annual Royal Guernsey Agricultural and Horticultural Society show at Saumarez park.  There was an impressive range of animals on display which had clearly taken many hours of preparation for the show.  Those that were deemed best in class were rewarded with one of the many impressive silver cups, this included the Queen's cups for best bull and cow which were dedicated to the society by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

It was a well attended event on a lovely sunny day, there was even time to enjoy a locally made ice cream!
