Remembrance
His Excellency attending the 2025 wreath laying and service held at the Fort George Memorial began at 10.30am on Saturday 8th November with a wreath laid at the British memorial before the entire party moved down to the German memorial to lay another wreath.
There were 13 German Officers attending in uniform on this occasion led by Lt Col Kevin Siegherth, from HQ ARRC and joined by The Bailiff, RBL President Ben Rowe, the Chief Minister, Deputy Lindsay de Sausmarez and CO Commander Graeme Hazelwood from HMS Daring.
His Excellency attended the service for Remembrance Sunday on 9 November. It begin with a bugler sounding the Last Post at 10.58am prior to a two-minute silence at 11am.
The service was well attended with a big crowd at the top of Smith Street to watch the wreath laying and the short service that followed.
The parade began at the Town Fire Service at 10.30am with ex-service men and women, the cadets forces and standards from local organisations. They were be joined by members of the Royal Court, military officer from 201 Squadron, the RAF, HMS Daring, and visting German Officers.
