RBL Poppy Appeal Launch Event

His Excellency has invited the volunteers to a reception at Government House to thank them for their work raising valuable funds for those affected by conflict.

There are two branches of the RBL in Guernsey and they work together for the Poppy Appeal that supports members of the Armed forces, veterans and their families.

In addition, His Excellency took the opportunity to highlight the RBL Certificate of Recognition that had been awarded last year to Kevin O'Kane and was recognised for his years of loyal service having been Northern Branch Secretary since 1995 and Poppy Appeal Organisor since 2014.

The National Certificate of Appreciation is the highest honour the Legion can bestow on a member. It may be awarded to a member who has made a conspicuous contribution to the Legion at any level for a period of at least twelve years. Certificates are presented at Annual Conference and are accompanied by a special lapel badge inscribed 'For Merit'.
