MoneyVal Reception

MoneyVal has become a familiar word to those in the finance industry over the past couple of years as the Council of Europe seeks to ensure countries and jurisdictions under their remit put in efforts to strengthen their anti-money laundering measures and their efforts to avoid the financing of terrorism.  

The last evaluation of Guernsey undertaken by Moneyval was in 2014 and showed that Guernsey had made good progress against the evolving international standards in these areas and we hope to show a continued tightening of these measures.

His Excellency welcomed the assessors to the Bailiwick on behalf of islanders across our jurisdictions. A reception was held at Government House for them to meet with key people from the Bailiwick who are playing an integral part in ensuring our compliancy with this International initiative.
