Long Service Awards for Home Affairs
Government House has, once again, been honoured to host members of the Guernsey Police, Guernsey Border Agency and, for the first time, long standing members of the Civil Protection Volunteers to receive their Long Service Medals. An award given for dedication to duty that reflects the high regard which in which they are held by the Guernsey public.
The Long Service awards start from 20 years through to an impressive 40 years and included Police Chief Officer Ruari Hardy gaining his 30 years Bar and Police Deputy Chief Officer Philip Breban who has served for 40 years.
The Guernsey Civil Protection Volunteers have been recognised for the first time with four members being awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for Voluntary Service with years of service ranging from 20 through to an incredible 47 years.
His Excellency was very pleased to present each member with their award and to have a chance to thank them on behalf of the island community.
