Le Murier School DofE Awards
All the young people taking part have to complete four sections at bronze and silver level. They involve helping the community, doing a sport, developing new skills and completing an expedition.
His Excellency once again hosted Le Murier School students who gained their Bronze Awards in the past year and a half, a great achievement considering the rather challenging circumstances they have met in all aspects of their lives since March 2020.
There were ten students collecting their Bronze Awards at Government House on this occasion with one who was unable to attend as he lives in Alderney. They were joined by their parents or guardians and also by many of their supporters including teachers and skills providers.
Each student was called up in turn to receive their badge, allowing their families to take an individual photograph of them with their certificates with the Lieutenant-Governor. There was a vibrant and celebratory atmosphere in the ballroom after the formal presentations as many of the students congratulated each other and happily talked with His Excellency and the other guests who attended the event.
