Launch of the Guernsey Puffin Parade
There were cows... there were donkeys... there were the golden Guernsey goats....
And now we have the Puffins!
Mrs Cripwell was thrilled to be able to launch the Guernsey Puffin Parade from Government House as patron of Autism Guernsey. They welcomed Barbeuse the Puffin, sponsored by Sovereign and painted by artist James Colmer who were surprised to see their puffin uncovered in the big reveal by Mrs Cripwell and His Excellency. It was chosen for its bright plumage which stood out well in the ballroom as it smiled for its photo with His Excellency and Mrs Cripwell, Andrew Warren, the Chair of Autism Guernsey and Steve Byrne, Manager at the GSPCA.
Autism Guernsey has been working closely with their partners at the GSPCA, whose staff have worked hard helping to bring the Puffin Parade to life and the 60 4ft puffins are now being delivered around the islands where they will stay until the auction in September.
The GSPCA are celebrating 150 years in the Bailiwick this year and were thrilled to be able to work with Autism Guernsey on this wonderfully popular event.
Please do go to the purpose built website, puffinparade.gg to find out more about the trail, the app and the all important auction in September.
