La Mare De Carteret Primary School

The Primary School receives huge congratulations for achieving their Gold award for this UNICEF backed scheme accrediting schools that believe in ensuring children's rights are at the heart of everything they do. 

His Excellency was invited to meet with some of the children, who dressed bright and sparkly in yellow, white and gold to help them celebrate achieving such an important goal. There was a lively discussion with the 'seen and heard' group who are part of the Pupil Leadership team who work closely with the staff to develop new projects and make sure the children contribute to the voice and vision of the school. 

A meeting with tea and cake followed his talk with with the children as His Excellency met some of the teachers and support staff that have kept these children engaged with the initiative and who continue to look to the future to keep the enthusiasm growing.
