Joining the Diocese of Salisbury
The deaneries of Guernsey and Jersey will soon become formally attached to the Diocese of Salisbury, under the episcopal care of the Bishop of Salisbury. The Deans of each island will become ex-officio members of the Bishop's Senior staff and the Bishop's Council and the Islands will be represented at Diocesan Synod.
His Excellency was joined by the new Lieutenant-Governor of Jersey and their wives and ADC's for a special service of celebration at Salisbury Cathedral to welcome the Islands to the Diocese.
The Dean of Guernsey and the Dean of Jersey were also installed as Canons and can be seen here in the picture with the Bishop of Salisbury alongside His Excellency and His Excellency, Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd.
