Investiture of David Warr OBE
David was appointed an OBE for services to the community in Guernsey for his leading role in numerous community projects over the years.
He was a founding director of the Guernsey Sports Commission, the Guernsey Community Foundation and the Ray Lowe Foundation. And more recently he has been Chair of Vive La Valette LBG and has campaigned for support for Mental Health Issues.
David could have gone to a ceremony at Buckingham Palace for his presentation but chose a reception at Government House where he could be surrounded by family and friends.
His Excellency and Mrs Cripwell were pleased to be able to extend the invitation to so many of David's family, some of which were over from the UK and even from Australia.
During his speech, David thanked many of the people present for their support and chose especially to thank his mother Betty who is shown in the photograph on the opening page and who he cites as having been a tremendous rock for him throughout his life.
