Inspecting the hedges with the Douzaine

His Excellency spent an afternoon out with the St Peters Douzeniers as they went out on one of their annual walk around the parish inspecting hedges and streams to ensure they had all been cut back and cleared as required. He said it was great fun and he very much enjoyed some wandering down some of the quieter lanes he hasn't seen before.

The requirements are written into law and the rules can be found on the parish websites or from the Constables office. The work has to be completed during the first fifteen days in June and the last fifteen days in September before they are inspected. Any transgressors are sent a reminder of their obligations and then get a further seven days for the work to be completed.
