Annual Honey Show

The Government House bees have been busy all year and produced several products that did well at the show.

The Guernsey Beekeeper's Association is still alive and thriving and supporting the many hives filled with bees across the island.

The annual Honey Show was well attended and this year, the competitive staff at Government House couldn't help but put in a few offerings to be judged. Our Chef's Assistant, Sophie, got first prize with her spectacular honey cookies, Head Gardener Brett collared a third for his photograph of the beekeepers at work first prize for his honey cake. He confessed that it didn't look like much but clearly that counts for very little when it tastes like honey heaven .

But the star of the show, or more specifically 'Best in Show' was the beeswax candles made by Brett's wife, Yolandi. Unfortunately, the honey itself didn't win any prizes but there's always next year!
