Ambassadorial Visits
Ambassadors to the Philipines and Italy will visit and stay at Government House in October
Government House hosts a number of VIP's throughout the year, here for a variety of reasons and to meet with members of the States of Guernsey, Finance and Industry and sometimes to take part in events on the Island. There have been several so far this year, including three delegates from the Red Cross, representatives from the King's Award for Enterprise and the Lord Mayor of London.
This month, we have two visiting ambassadors, a delegation from the Philipines and one from Italy.
The Philippine Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Teodoro Lopez Locsin Jr, visited Guernsey for the first time since he was appointed to the post in August 2022. It is the first visit by any Philipine Ambassador.
As part of the visit, he met the Chief Minister, Deputy Lyndon Trott, and members of several Committees with meetings focussed on the local Filipino community’s valuable contributions to Guernsey, particularly within the hospitality, health and finance sectors. The Ambassador also visited the Princess Elizabeth Hospital, meeting with Filipino nationals working within healthcare.
