A visit to the Stables
A keen rider herself, Mrs Cripwell was very much looking forward to visiting the stables at La Carriere and Melrose to see the work they do there.
As their patron, Mrs Cripwell was interested to meet the volunteers and talk with them about their valuable work making horse riding accessible to children who would otherwise be unlikely to experience such a rewarding activity.
The horses are specially chosen and are very docile, allowing the children to interact with them and enjoy this wonderful experience.
It was a warm but windy day in June and Mrs Cripwell was delighted to meet such gentle horses and such dedicated volunteers and was able to see how much the young people enjoy this wonderful activity enabling them not just to ride the horses but to learn how to care for them. The feedback from the young people gives so much cheer to the volunteers and that can be a reward in itself.
