A tour of the Gardens for Plant Heritage

Lady Cripwell is Patron of the charity, Plant Heritage and invited a group of volunteers for a tour of the gardens with Head Gardener Brett followed by tea and cake in the conservatory at Government House.

Twenty members of the charity joined Lady Cripwell on a slightly damp but beautiful day and were especially pleased to get a tour of the walled garden which is in full bloom, with dahlias and roses and huge crops of raspberries, strawberries, vegetables and herbs.

The Nerine Collection held by Plant Heritage has been officially recognised since 2017 but the festival has been going on since the year 2000 and celebrates 25 years this year.

The Nerine Louise Cripwell created in 2023 especially for their new patron.

Visiting the Nerine Festival in 2024, Lady Cripwell especially enjoyed talking to the wonderful volunteer who potted all the nerines for display.
