QAVS Award for CLIP
Creative Learning in Prison promotes itself as having a mission to build a legacy that inspires prisoners to fully integrate into the community, reducing the likelihood of re-offending and they believe that education within a safe and secure environment is one of the most important pillars of effective rehabilitation.
Their work has been recognised by the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, an award equivalent to an MBE for an individual and it is an honour to receive and all thanks to the hard work and dedication of the volunteers.
His Excellency went to a special reception to present them with the beautiful crystal at an informal ceremony attended also by the Prison Governor and some of the staff involved with making the scheme work in the prisons.
Some of the inmates had also been able to attend and His Excellency was presented with a beautiful handcrafted bowl made by one of the men who had benefited from the CLIP scheme.
