Riding for the Disabled
The Guernsey Group of the Riding for the Disabled has been operating since 1974 and has about 40 adults and children who attend at Le Carriere & Melrose stables each week.
Lady Corder is the patron of the charity and takes a special interest in an activity that gives so many benefits, offering a freedom of movement and a sense of personal achievement felt by all those who take part.
The group is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and it has children of all ages and some very young, taking part in its weekly sessions. For more information on the charity, please see their link here
On this occasion, Lady Corder went to watch two little boys riding. Barney who is 5 and Fletch is 6 and has been riding since he was just 2 years old! You can see from their happy smiles and thumbs up in the pictures below that they really enjoy their time with the little ponies. Lady Corder also presented each of the boys with a special coin from His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor.
