A Lovely Day for a Picnic

 On Wednesday 26th August, His Excellency and Lady Corder hosted a picnic in the grounds of Government House to support Dementia Friendly Guernsey.   Joined by members of their families and carers, around 150 people attended from local care homes together with those living with dementia at home. 

With the help of local artists, Karen Le Normand and the Button Pushers, attendees enjoyed a fun, music-filled afternoon in the sunshine.

It is estimated that around 1,200 Islanders are impacted by dementia in Guernsey.  Dementia Friendly Guernsey aims to increase awareness in our community, whilst also helping to improve the quality of life for islanders and visitors to Guernsey living with dementia .  You can find out more about their work on the website at:
