Harbour Carnival Fun

Dingy racing Displays a larger version of this image in a new browser windowLast Friday evening (15 Jun) saw Lady Corder join other members of the Guernsey Voluntary Service to compete alongside a record 16 other teams in the annual Harbour Carnival dingy race.

Hundreds of enthusiastic islanders joined in the Carnival fun competing in a range of events such as the man-powered flight competition, paddle board racing, tug of war, and the plastic duck race; many hundreds more came along to watch the fun.  Paddling enthusiastically, the team came a creditable third place in their heat but unfortunately failed to qualify for the next round, watch out next year though!

Organised annually by the Guernsey Round Table, the Carnival is now in its 35th year and is as popular as ever.  This year's proceeds will be split between the Guernsey Voluntary Service and a variety of other local charities as distributed by the Round Table throughout the year.
