They were escorted around the museum's many exhibits by Dr Jason Monaghan, Head of Guernsey's Heritage Services.  They had the opportunity to meet with a number of museum staff and service providers including Jo Dowding (Access and Learning manager) who explained how the museum works with schools and other educational groups, and Caterina Allaway (Arts Commission) who introduced them to the Greenhouse Gallery, currently exhibiting a series of works depicting islanders' impressions of the occupation.

In addition to the museum's usual depictions of Guernsey's history and culture, and its impressive art collection, His Excellency and Lady Corder saw special exhibits relating to the forthcoming release of the major new film 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' and the role of medical services in the First World War.

Sir Ian remarked that Guernsey was extremely fortunate to have such world class museums and that he continued to be amazed by the range of real cultural treasures on display around the islands of the Bailiwick.
