The inspiration for the ride came from Sandra Robilliard.  Sandra, who was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome at the age of 52, wanted to get together 52 riders to take part in this 52 mile challenge alongside her to raise money for Autism Guernsey. She also wanted to complete the ride in memory of her father who passed away recently.  In the event, Sandra easily achieved her target with well over 60 riders taking part.

Sandra had spinal surgery in 2013 and cycling was recommended by her doctor as part of a rehabilitation programme.  She uses a power-assisted cycle purchased from Adventure Cycles, who kindly sponsored her ride on Sunday.

Lady Corder, who has been Patron of Autism Guernsey since arriving in Guernsey, thanked everyone for taking part and wished them a great day out.
