Lt Governor's son briefs College CCF

Capt Alex Corder briefs Elizabeth College CCF Displays a larger version of this image in a new browser windowLast Friday (10th Mar) Captain Alexander Corder 5th Bn The Rifles, a full time infantry officer and His Excellency's youngest son, dropped in to Elizabeth College to tell CCF cadets about life in the Army and to recount some of his own operational experiences.

Alex, now 28, graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in December 2011.  After first deploying in support of the London 2012 Olympics, he has seen front line operational service in Afghanistan, Oman, Somalia, and Romania.  Alex has also taken part in major exercises in Kenya and Canada and is shortly about to deploy to Estonia for the rest of this year as part of NATO's newly established deterent force in the Baltics.  

In his talk he briefed the cadets on his own operational experiences and also provided them with a general update on the many options for careers in the Army and the the latest schemes on which applicants can join.
