This Wednesday Lady Corder hosted 70 young 'Friends of Wildlife' who completed their 'Friends of Wildlife Walk' last September and presented them each with a certificate to commemorate their participation. Altogether the walk raised £3000 to help three small bears Louisa, Mollie, and Georgia who had been rescued from a terrible flood in their native Georgia and rehomed to a bear sanctuary in northern Greece.  The three bears have now been joined by a fourth male orphan called Patrick, who was already homed in the sanctuary, and the four have become inseparable friends!Lady Corder meets 3 young Friends of Wildlife Displays a larger version of this image in a new browser window

Lady Corder was joined by Jurat David Hodgetts and Lady Le Cheminant (Norma) from the Friends of Wildlife Committee in congratulating the children on their achievement.  The children were from Melrose, Hautes Capelles Primary School, Blanchelande College and Beechwood, and they rounded off the morning with a delicious plate of Government House cup cakes!
