Lady Corder supports Dementia Friendly Guernsey
This Monday, Lady Corder attended the launch of the new 'Dementia Friendly Guernsey' campaign at Les Cotils. This initiative has been launched by members of the local community to improve the lives of people living with dementia and those caring for them. In particular it aims to improve education and understanding of dementia across the whole Island community. It will offer dementia awareness training for businesses and individuals who wish to become more supportive to those affected by the condition.
Lady Corder spent time talking to Mr Eddie Bolger and his wife Penny. Eddie has been diagnosed with early onset dementia and has bravely agreed to be the face of the campaign. She said that 'this is a very important initiative and an area where Guernsey can be a genuine leader' and indicated that all staff at Government House (as well as her husband!) will be strongly encouraged to complete the awarness training.
